SAM: Sleep and Metabolism Study

Volunteer for research at OHSU and contribute to discoveries that may improve health care for you, your family, and your community!

The purpose of this study is to understand how differing durations of sleep impact metabolism. The results of this study may lead to interventions that promote healthy weight in individuals who live on alternative sleep schedules. Participation in this study consists of eating only meals that are provided to you at-home for up to 3 days while maintaining a controlled sleep-wake schedule. After these at-home proceures, we present a number of tests and procedures in an in-laboratory setting. The main research consists of staying in a laboratory suite for 14 consecutive days and nights in the Oregon Clinical and Translational Research Institute at OHSU.
